60 DAYS OR BUST [Scottsdale Art Tour]

DAY 4, MAY 5, 2018

FIND OUT WHO YOUR FRIENDS ARE
You find out who your friends are
Somebody’s gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas get there fast
Never stop to think ‘what’s in it for me?’ or ‘it’s way too far.’
They just show on up with their big old heart
You find out who you’re friends are, you find out who you’re friends are

Saturday… or as I am going to call it, Day 4 of the Hostage Situation.

I have been told many a time that I missed my calling and should have been a wedding/party planner.  Of course, that would demand, a whole lot of weekends working.  I am much more content spending weekends organizing parties/events to enjoy with my friends rather than for strangers.

Today was a festive day.  I hosted an Art Tour of Downtown Scottsdale and lunch for some of my good friends and then in the evening attended a Cinco de Mayo dinner party.

The tour was a surprise.  My friends knew they were being taken on a tour but did not know what the tour would entail [hostages].  The sights are permanent, public art installations we have driven by for years and didn’t quite notice.  For example, I have driven by the horses (as I called them) dozens and dozens of times and did not know that the equine gargoyles (which is what they are actually called) work to collect water during flash floods.  Water pours from the gargoyles mouths into the wash to prevent flooding.  They are stunning.  Read more here:   http://www.scottsdalepublicart.org/permanent-art/water-mark

And many thousands of people drive or walk by or even sit on the bench at the installation named Horseshoe Falls and do not know there is a button you can push.  That button will release a dense fog to cool those resting on the bench. I have driven through the intersection on the SEC of Scottsdale Road and Camelback many times and did not know that beautiful Copper Falls existed. Read more here: http://www.scottsdalepublicart.org/permanent-art/copper-falls

Quote for today:  Best Friends – You laugh, I laugh.  You cry, I cry.  You fall, I laugh, then I fall too because I was laughing so hard.  Teenagerposts.tumblr.com
