DAY 2, May 3, 2018
Waiting on the World to Change
Now if we had the power
To bring our neighbors home from war
They would have never missed a Christmas
No more ribbons on their door
And when you trust your television
What you get is what you got
Cause when they own the information, oh
They can bend it all they want
Hiking in the Dreamy Drawer I realized, not for the first time, how privileged I am to live in Arizona where great hikes are plenteous. You have lots of time to ponder life when hiking and for the last few years, I have been thinking a lot about what I am leaving behind. What has been my contribution? Is there still time to leave something worthwhile in my wake and if so, what could it be?
Hiking Lost Dog Trail with Cindy & Margo. The Fountain Hills fountain can be seen in the background. Cir. 2014
Hiking along the Salt River – saw a few wild horses on this hike.
I have decided a list is needed. I am a list maker. I usually have multiple lists started. I can look down and see three right now. I will make a list that is the mother of all lists. Not a simple “to do” list. It isn’t a list of items to buy at the store. It’s not a list stuck on a client file of things needing action. This list is going to be a list of things I can do; things I enjoy that could somehow become something that makes a difference.

A quote to live by:
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
Henry David Thoreau
